This term, the children in Key Stage 1 are learning about The Great Fire of London. Did you know that the fire started on September 2nd 1666 in a bakery owned by Thomas Farrynor, in Pudding Lane? The children should be able to tell you lots of this information! They have been inspired by the topic, and it has extended into their play, when they have chosen to build houses from Lego and to re-create London by building it from wooden bricks. They have even been role-playing escaping from the fire, when they have been playing on the playground or in the home corner! | |
