Congratulation to Cullyn for being chosen as Sports person of the Year for the whole of Year 2! We are very proud of your achievement! What a star you are!
Today we had our final riding lesson at the RDA, and the children had to complete a riding circuit and grooming a pony in order to pass their Grade 1 Riding Certificate. All rode brilliantly - mounting their ponies, dropping a hoop into a basketball net, steering their pony through slalem posts, picking up a plastic duck from a table and dropping it into a basket, negotiating round a circle, trotting and finally standing up in their stirrups and dismounting. They also needed to groom a pony, by brushing them, combing their mane and picking out one of their hooves. All the children completed this successfully and were awarded their Certificate in Celebration Assembly. Well done to you all!
The children planted beans and took cuttings of geraniums this week, to grow new plants. Hopefully we will be able to plant these out in school soon.
This term, Josh Boulton from Wiltshire Cricket has been into school coaching Diamond class in cricket skills. The children love playing and have learned lots of new skills, so much so, that Kelci and Connor are representing the school in the year 5/6 cricket tournament on the 7th June. Well done you two!
On 3rd of May, Kelci, Connor, Owen H and Mrs Davis went to Osmington Bay on a residential for 4 days. The sun shone all week, and the children were very brave in trying out new challenges. Well done to them all! Here are a selection of photographs.
Mrs Davis will be away with the Year 5 children from Diamond Class - Kelci, Owen and Connor - on residential this week at Osmington Bay. We will try to post some photos as we go through the week.
Swimming will begin again for Diamond Class on Monday 9th May. Please could children make sure they have their swimming kit with them on that day. We will be working towards swimming ribbons as awards for the rest of the school year.
